BOTOX® COSMETIC

When we smile, laugh, frown, or look surprised, we contract the muscles of our face. Over time, these contractions produce permanent furrows and deep wrinkles in the skin, especially around the eyes, mouth, forehead, and between the eyebrows. These wrinkles can make you look older, sad, angry, or tired. BOTOX®, or botulinum toxin A, is an FDA-approved muscle-relaxant, and when used for cosmetic purposes, it is a quick, safe, and effective way to reduce or eliminate facial wrinkles without surgery and with little to no downtime and discomfort. BOTOX® injection is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the world.

FACIAL FILLERS

Facial fillers such as Juvéderm™, Restylane®, Radiesse®, and others, are safe, effective, FDA-approved injectable gels that are made of natural and biocompatible materials that are found throughout the body already. Facial fillers are designed to smooth away wrinkles and fine lines, enhance lip fullness, define cheeks and jawlines, reshape contour irregularities, and restore lost volume to the skin of the aged face. Fillers are especially effective around the laugh lines (nasolabial folds), glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the nose (liquid nose job), the eyelids, and other selected locations. With minimal downtime and discomfort, the results are immediate and natural-looking.

CHEMICAL PEELS

The skin is made of two major layers, the dermis and epidermis, as well as several sublayers within. As we grow and mature, the skin constantly replaces the cells of those layers. As we continue to age, that process slows down, contributing to our tired and wrinkled appearance. Chemical peels, also known as derma-peels, remove the damaged outer layers of the skin of the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, irregular skin pigmentation, scaly patches, and sun-damaged areas. Chemical peels come in a variety of strengths, and using our custom-tailored, patient-specific approach, our plastic surgeons can help you optimize results to create a fresh, natural complexion, and a healthy, youthful glow.

SCAR REVISION

Scar revision is performed to reduce the appearance of unsightly scars caused by injury or previous surgery. While scars are permanent by definition, surgery can narrow, fade, or otherwise reduce the appearance of severe or unattractive scarring. The effectiveness of scar revision depends on a number of factors, including the nature of the injury, your body’s own healing potential, the size and depth of the scar, and surgical technique employed. Whether on the face or body, our plastic surgeons can optimize results of your scar revision using an individual, targeted, patient-centered approach.

FAT GRAFTING

Autologous fat grafting, involves extracting fatty tissue cells from one part of the body and transplanting them to another area. Typically, fat is removed through liposuction, often from the abdomen, flanks, hips, arms and/or thighs, and then processed and injected into the area targeted for treatment. Since the transplanted fat comes from the patient’s own body, fat grafting does not carry a risk of allergic reaction or rejection. Other advantages include a short recovery time, long-lasting results, and effectiveness on any skin type. Fat grafting is used to reshape various contour irregularities of the face, as well as enhance several different areas of the body, such as the buttock, hips, and breasts. When performed by our expert plastic surgeons, fat grafting is an invaluable method for correcting and enhancing the lines and silhouette of the body and face.

VARICOSE & SPIDER VEIN TREATMENT

The lower extremities have an extensive network of veins, both deep and superficial. Varicose veins are veins that have become enlarged, twisted, and unsightly. Any vein can become varicosed, but the superficial veins of the legs are most commonly affected. Standing and walking upright for prolonged periods increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body, and often contributes to development of varicose veins. Spider veins, mild variation of varicose veins, can be an unsightly cosmetic burden. Sclerotherapy, the treatment for varicose veins, involves a direct, targeted injection of varicose veins, and can help rejuvenate otherwise aged, discolored ankles and legs. Our plastic surgeons can also custom-tailor your self-care measures and behaviour modification to optimize your results.
